About
Consumers Under Attack is an educational resource that informs consumers, media, advocacy organizations, and decision makers about the undermining of consumer financial protections by political appointees to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) who put the interests of predatory lenders and Wall Street above the needs of consumers.
Additional Background
In November 2017, President Trump unlawfully appointed his Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director, Mick Mulvaney, to be Acting Director of the CFPB. As a Member of Congress, Mulvaney supported a bill to eliminate the CFPB and as OMB Director, he wrote budgets that would defund the CFPB. As de-facto head of the CFPB, Mulvaney has undertaken a series of measures that undermines the agency and its work to protect consumers. This website documents these actions and those of the men and women he has tasked with carrying out his anti-consumer agenda.
